Quick updates - Mid Day Monday, Jan 18

Revised statistics -- The Body Count, Monday afternoon:

--upwards of 200,000 dead, numbers rising...

See here recently posted video reports, by Cine Institute in Jacmel staff and Students in Jacmel documenting the destruction and recovery efforts of a community that was without official help - and remains largely so - up to now.

Here are a few video clips from the Cine Institute students - ordinary heroes in their effort to tell the world about their city's brave response to this catastrophe.

They are posted to Vimeo

Media are now entering Leogane, and medic teams too.

Look ahead: I'll be posting updates related to Jacmel and Leogane, Carrefour and Petit Goave in the coming hours and days. Look for news about Orphan care and adoption updates, too.
